Critters
In the artistic search for mythological creatures, drawings have proved their worth from the very beginning. As a reference to mythological parameters or their loss, as famulus or hybrid, I like the term critter, as used by Donna Haraway. "In this text I use critter liberally: for microbes, plants, animals, humans, non-humans, and sometimes machines. The term critter has been translated with the artificial word "Kritter", as there is no term in German that reflects the range of what is meant." The term creature is linguistically too closely interwoven with the Christian creation story, which plays a strongly negative role in the human-dominated Anthropocene. See also MONOTYPE
