Mira Pighini: Vanishing Twin

For Mira Pighini Valentina Magaletti, a drummer from Bari who lives in London, is one of the most interesting and prolific contemporary musicians. Her most popular project is the psychedelic pop band Vanishing Twin. The series of works on paper is dedicated to her. When one twin disappears in the womb and its sibling remains, doctors refer to this as a vanishing twin. The brush drawings capture the state before this happens. They intuitively follow both the tradition of Far Eastern brush drawings and the directness of contemporary street art.
